A striking example of the ancient urban infrastructure can rightly be considered the city of Sairam, which is currently a residential area of the city of Shymkent
The former name of Sairam, found in written sources of the early middle ages - Isbidjab. In that ancient era, the city was one of the largest trade and cultural centers on the great Silk Road, so it had an important economic and political significance for the entire nomadic civilization. For the same reason, there are many historical sights of the middle ages: architectural complexes and structures, mausoleums, and many holy graves. The tower of the Bazalak-ata mosque, a minaret dating from the 12th century, is in particular honor. In addition, the current Sairam is a place of pilgrimage and a unique open-air Museum, where it will be useful to spend time not only for the faithfull, but also for anyone interested in the history of Kazakhstan.
